"The tomato sauce is covered with gouda cheese and topped with salame, ham, mushrooms and small slices of pepperoni.
Though slightly spicy, the ham and mushroom flavours dominate, along with the garlic and oregano. This is an engaging mix of flavours, with a slightly sweeter and less spicy taste and a nice mix of garlic flavours added to the mix. Ristorante Speciale has a cornucopia of flavours and textures and can be perfectly matched with either a red or white wine."

2012 Tesco Finest Pinot Grigio RSP €13.99
The wine is made exclusively for Tesco as part of their Finest range. The grapes are grown in Trentino, a mountainous wine region in Northern Italy. The high altitude means cooler nights, which results in acidity and freshness in the wine. Top tip: when buying an Italian Pinot Grigio, always go for the cooler Italian regions as the wine will have more zip. This wine has lots of green apple fruit; it fills your mouth with zesty lemon/lime flavours and will be a perfect match with the soft cheese flavours.
2012 Emotivo Montepulciano D’Abruzzo RSP €10.00
This Italian wine is made from a red grape called Montepulciano and grown in central and southern Italy. It has a deep dark colour and lots of wonderful acidity. A rich wine with lots of ripe black fruit flavours, this wine will compliment the range of classically Italian flavours found in Ristorante Speciale. A match made in heaven!
